Doctor B – A Yo-Yo Documentary

Doctor B – A Short Documentary About a Professional Yo-Yoer. About: Professional yo-yoer Jonathan Best (AKA Doctor B) returns to one of the largest yo-yo championships in America, meeting and competing against a younger generation. by David Chen After directing The Primary Instinct in 2014, I wanted to shift my focus to smaller scale projects. While The Primary Instinct was a tiny film to begin with, it still required many months of planning and over $50,000 to produce. So I tried finding stories from sources all around me, that I could film myself with a very small crew (if any). In my search, I stumbled upon the world of professional yo-yoers, who compete annually in Seattle at the Pacific Northwest Regional Yo-Yo Championships. What drove these people to master the yo-yo? What did they get out of it? What was it like to be a winner, vs. someone who just competed for the love of the game? I tried to tackle some of these questions in a short documentary I made called Doctor B. One Drop Prescription

The Bridge Video feat. Jensen Kimmitt

To celebrate the upcoming collaborative project with Raised by Wolves, we at CLYW decided to send out Jensen Kimmitt and Charles Haycock into the freezing December winter in Edmonton to make a video. We wanted a raw feel with a realistic but impressive perspective on what return tops are all about to go along with the pieces we worked on with the folks at Raised by Wolves. It took three days and over fifty takes to achieve this single shot. Due to the average temperature of -25C, the shooting had to be split up so that we could run back to the truck to avoid frostbite and the tricks used in the freestyle were adapted over the three days of shooting in order to be hit clean under freezing and windy conditions. We are very proud on how well this project turned out and hope everyone enjoys the products of our hard work.

Πάει και αυτός ο χρόνος! Level Up για όλους και αισιοδοξία για την νέα χρονιά! Συνηθίζεται τέτοια εποχή, λίγο πριν την αλλαγή του χρόνου με τις σαμπάνιες και τις βασιλόπιτες, να κάνουμε έναν απολογισμό… Ε, εμείς θα κάνουμε και ένα giveaway! Για την Ελληνική κοινότητα του yo-yo το 2019 ήταν μια νέα αρχή. Tον Απρίλιο μερικοί από τους παλιότερους, από όλη την Ελλάδα, τα είπαμε και παίξαμε στην Αθήνα, στην Vintage Toys και τον Σεπτέμβριο βρεθήκαμε ξανά, στα Βόρεια, στο Street Mode Festival της Θεσσαλονίκης. Εύχομαι το 2020 που έρχεται ολοκαίνουργιο και φρέσκο, να μας φέρει ακόμη περισσότερες ευκαιρίες να βρισκόμαστε να διασκεδάζουμε και να διαδίδουμε την χαρά του yoyoing (και από κοντά και του Kendama). Το SUNRiSE (Bill de Boisblanc x Dave Geigle x YYF) είναι αποτέλεσμα συνεργασίας του Bill de Boisblanc, ενός μύθου του yoyoing (παίζει και συμμετέχει σε διαγωνισμούς από τις αρχές του 1950, 3 φορές πρωταθλητής κόσμου, μέλος της YoYoJam κ.α.), του 5 φορές πρωταθλητή Ευρώπης Dave Geigle και της γνωστής YoYoFactory.
